1. Reporting Copyright Infringement

If you believe that content on houseforhomeless.com infringes your copyright, send a written notification to our designated agent containing all of the following:

  1. A physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner or a person authorized to act on their behalf
  2. Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to have been infringed
  3. Identification of the material claimed to be infringing, with enough information for us to locate it (the exact URL of the page on our site)
  4. Your contact information: name, address, telephone number, and email address
  5. A statement that you have a good-faith belief that use of the material is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law
  6. A statement, made under penalty of perjury, that the information in the notification is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act on the owner’s behalf

Send DMCA notices to: dmca@houseforhomeless.com with the subject line “DMCA Notice”. Notices missing required elements may not be acted upon.

2. Our Response

Upon receiving a valid DMCA notice, we will review it and, where appropriate, remove or disable access to the identified material promptly. We may notify the person who posted the material and provide them with a copy of the notice.

3. Counter-Notification

If material you posted was removed due to a DMCA notice and you believe the removal was a mistake or misidentification, you may submit a written counter-notification containing:

  1. Your physical or electronic signature
  2. Identification of the material that was removed and the location where it appeared before removal
  3. A statement, under penalty of perjury, that you have a good-faith belief the material was removed as a result of mistake or misidentification
  4. Your name, address, and telephone number, and a statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the federal district court for your address (or, if outside the United States, any judicial district in which we may be found), and that you will accept service of process from the person who filed the original notice

If we receive a valid counter-notification, we may restore the removed material in 10–14 business days unless the original complainant files a court action.

4. Misrepresentation

Under Section 512(f) of the DMCA, any person who knowingly materially misrepresents that material is infringing, or that material was removed by mistake, may be liable for damages. Do not file false claims.

5. Repeat Infringers

It is our policy to terminate, in appropriate circumstances, the access of users or contributors who are determined to be repeat infringers.

6. Our Own Content
